My infrared mouse scrolls when I don't want it to.

Every once in a while, my infrared mouse will "scroll" the foreground window. Initially, I thought this was due to having dropped the unit a few months back. Then, one day, the document I was working on started to scroll and (by luck) I moved my hand over the top of the mouse and the scrolling stopped, I took my hand away and it started scrolling again. I put my hand back - and it stopped. I had purchased a new desk light a month or so after I bought my mouse and it was much brighter than my previous one. Light was getting through the mouse housing and causing interference, I moved my light over about 6 inches and have not had a problem since. I hope this helps. " Well, it's worth trying”.
